Hydra is an African focused techology production house.We exist to aid the rapid prototyping and scale deployment of technology powered solutions on the continent.Most technolgy solutions
deployed on the continent are created outside the continent.
The process of importing technologies from different markets and trying to adapt them to the local market often results in
redundancies not efficiencies in the ecosystem.A dedicated technology manufacturing platform will save organisations the high cost of building and maintaining an internal engineering team.
Technology is purposeful intervention by design with technological practice being the activity through which technological outcomes are created and have impact in the world.Technological
outcomes are designed to enhance the capabilities of people and expand human possibilities.They change the made world in ways that have positive and/or negative impacts on the social and
natural world.
Technology is a key ingredient in Africa's pursuit to shift from an agaraian economy with the market's development intersecting with the overhaul of manufacturing and industry
process by the 4th industrial revolution.
The revolution is characterized by the convergence of Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT), cyber-physical systems, advanced robotics,
additive manufacturing, big data analytics and virtual/augmented reality and other technologies.
Unlike the previous 3 industrial revolutions, Industry 4.0 represents a convergence of 2 disconnected worlds: Informational technology and Operational technology.It bridges the digital and
physical worlds through hyper-connected digital networks across the entire value, from design to after-sales services resulting in highly efficient and productive value chains. As industries
in Africa embrace global standards in a bid to remain competitive in a fast globalizing world, they will need to deploy customized technologies at scale.
