almost 40% of the continents agricultural produce lost between production and consumption due to inefieceint value chains.
On present trends, the continent will produce only 13% of its food needs by 2050.The region holds about half of the world's fertile unused land yet it spends US$25 billion annually
importing food.It also uses only a tiny percentage of its renewable water resources.

be possible with adequate investment in an efficient agri-business and horticulture value-chain.
